About

Welcome to The Minority Leaders, a podcast highlighting the journeys of women of color changemakers in Washington.

I’m Algene Sajery, the creator, producer, and host of The Minority Leaders. I am a foreign policy and national security expert, Capitol Hill veteran, former political campaign operative, and former small business owner.  I currently serve Vice President of External Affairs and Head of Global Gender Equity Initiatives for an international development finance agency. Note: The views expressed by me on this podcast are 100% my own and do not represent the views of my current or former employers. Check out my full disclaimer here.

As the first woman of color to serve as policy director of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, I am dedicated to increasing woman and minority representation in national policymaking and politics. I formerly served on the Executive Committee (board) of the Leadership Council for Women in National Security, and as a member of Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security, Black Women’s Congressional Alliance, Black Professionals in International Affairs, and Women in Government Relations. A graduate of Howard University, I am a proud graduate chapter member of the esteemed Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

This podcast is my love letter to the next generation of women of color political, policymaking, and business leaders. It is a clarion call to women leaders to keep breaking every glass ceiling in our paths, because America desperately needs us.

Please listen, subscribe, rate, and share!

With gratitude and inspiration,

Algene
